Dr Lei Cao is a Fellow of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr Lei completed his primary medical degree and Master degree in China and undertook physician training in two leading hospitals in Beijing for 6 years. He is passionate about medicine and achieved his PhD at Macquarie University in 2014, in a field of heart health; he was appointed as a post-doctoral fellow at the Heart Research Institute, University of Sydney. Dr Lei then worked at Hornsby hospital for 4 years and gained experience in emergency medicine, general medicine and general / orthopaedic surgery. He worked as a GP in rural NSW for 4 years (Bathurst and Forbes) and then Hornsby for the past 2 years. Dr Lei gained extensive experience in general practice, including early detecting serious medical conditions, chronic disease management, preventive medicine, mental health, aged care, work compensation and common skin procedures.

Dr Lei is committed to holistic care and continuity of care for his patients and their families. Dr Lei’s appointment will provide a thorough and timely assessment, explanation, treatment plan, and preventive care. He is a good communicator, fluent in English and Mandarin. In his spare time, he enjoys family time and sports.
