Dr Lalana has worked internationally for over 10 years in general medicine, paediatrics, gynaecology, and general practice. Since moving to Australia, she has been working in Campbelltown, Camden, Bathurst, Orange, and Bloomfield hospitals. Dr Lalana completed her specialist training in General Practice and obtained her fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She has obtained her diploma in children’s health and psychiatric medicine. Her special interests include children’s health, women’s health, antenatal and postnatal care, adolescent health, skin check, chronic disease management, mental health, and focused psychological strategies.
Dr Kapuwatte (Lalana) provides eating disorder-specific family-based therapy as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
She provides general medical treatment and mental health care for complex health needs.
Lalana believes in collaborating with other health professionals to provide the best outcome for her patients/clients/consumers.
She is passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of clients and discussing lifestyle skills. She is also involved in teaching medical students at SRH, University of Sydney, Orange. During her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, going for walks, and doing pilates/yoga.
